Get ready for loads of fun with Miss Jill at Tiny Tots and Preschool StoryTime!

Tiny Tots StoryTime is an energetic program designed for children ages newborn to 3 years old and their caregiver. It will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays, 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, and 11:00 a.m. on Wednesdays.

Preschool StoryTime is a fun, interactive program which includes a science experiment for ages 3 to 6. It will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Mondays.

Bring a pumpkin dish to Lunch Bunch

Got lunch plans? Then join Cheryl Lyon for What’s Cookin’: Lunch Bunch on Monday, October 25!

Lunch-goers should bring a pumpkin dish to the noon edition of What’s Cookin’: Lunch Bunch to share with everyone. Then get ready to discuss cooking, baking, recipes, and more. Make sure to bring your own beverage to quench your thirst.

This year’s What’s Cookin’ schedule is as follows: October 25 (pumpkin dishes), November 15 (brunch), and December 13 (potluck and gift exchange).

Have you ever wondered how local restaurants make some of your favorite foods? Sample Taste of the Town and find out for yourself.

Taste of the Town is a new adult cooking program hosted by the Upper Sandusky Community Library. In this monthly program, representatives from local restaurants will share their culinary passion and demonstrate how to make one of their most popular dishes.

Create boo-tiful crafts at Craft Party!

Crafternoon is now Craft Party! Join Miss Rachel and spend an evening with fabulous makers just like yourself.

There will be two featured crafts for the October Halloween Puss and BOOts Craft Party. Grab a friend and spend the evening making a boo-tiful Halloween display. You will make a witch’s boot floral arrangement and a black cat mosaic photo frame. It will be an evening of crafts, snacks, and fun. The Craft Party will be held in the large meeting room at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 14.

Clothing Swap is Oct. 14-16

The Clothing Swap returns to the Upper Sandusky Community Library on October 14. Before the swap gets underway, however, the library will be accepting clean, gently used donations October 7-9.

Here’s how it works: go through your closet and find items that no longer spark joy or things that you don’t wear anymore. Bring donations of men’s, women’s, or children’s clothing, belts, hats, purses, jewelry, and shoes to the library during business hours.

Take part in USCL's Pumpkin Decorating Contest

If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly fall project, then swing by the Upper Sandusky Community Library to take part in a Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

The contest kicks off October 18. Simply pick up a pumpkin in the library’s front vestibule, take it home, and start decorating. There will be a limited number of pumpkins available for the contest, so make sure to get yours early. Carved jack-o-lanterns are not allowed.

Grab-N-Go meals available at the library

Beginning Monday, October 4, Grab-N-Go Meals will be available at the Upper Sandusky Community Library for youth up to age 18.

For the 2021-2022 school year, libraries are participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to provide afterschool meals for children and teens. Children’s Hunger Alliance helps sponsor CACFP and has partnered with the library to provide services needed to ensure children receive a healthy meal after school. Youth can visit USCL from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to pick up a Grab-N-Go Meal.

STEAMPunk Family Drive-In & Car Show

Ka-chow! Drive on in to the library for the return of S.T.E.A.M.Punks!

Kids, teens, and adults can make their own cardboard car at home and visit the library for the Drive-In Movie and Car Show on Monday, October 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the large meeting room. Need some extra supplies for your cardboard car? Check out the supplies Youth Services Specialist Lisa Andres has collected and take home what you need to deck out your car. Trophies and cash awards will be given to winners by age group categories. All participants will also receive a snack pack supplied by Boo Bear Auto.
