Another area child has joined the ranks of fellow readers who have read 1,000 books before kindergarten.
Jacob Bassler, son of Joshua and Christi Bassler, has completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. He started the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program on April 12, 2018, and reached his goal on November 20, 2021.
Jacob, now four years old, loves to read, especially books about dinosaurs getting into trouble. He loves crispy chicken nuggets, rainbows, playing on his slide, and the sun, particularly when it’s brighter than his eyes. Jacob helps out on the farm feeding chickens and getting apples for the horses, which are his favorite farm animals.
Any child from birth until they enter kindergarten can participate. Each child will receive a log to record the books with incentives being given along the way. As you read to your children, they will form a link between books and what they love most – your voice and your closeness.
