Do you have a favorite reading genre, but no one to talk about it with? Then make way for the Inglorious Bookworms Book Club. Each month the book club will feature a different genre that you can dive into or skip.

The Inglorious Bookworms will be reading the fantasy novel “A Master of Djinn” by P. Djèlí Clark in January. “Cairo, 1912: Though Fatma el-Sha’arawi is the youngest woman working for the Ministry of Alchemy, Enchantments and Supernatural Entities, she’s certainly not a rookie. So when someone murders a secret brotherhood dedicated to one of the most famous men in history, al-Jahiz, Agent Fatma is called onto the case. This murderer claims to be al-Jahiz, returned to condemn the modern age for its social oppressions. His dangerous magical abilities instigate unrest in the streets of Cairo that threaten to spill over onto the global stage. Alongside her Ministry colleagues and her clever girlfriend Siti, Agent Fatma must unravel the mystery behind this imposter to restore peace to the city.”

The discussion will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25 in the library’s large meeting room. Copies of the book are available upon request at the library’s front desk. It is also available as an ebook and digital audiobook on Libby and as an audiobook on hoopla.
