Common Readers will be reading “Kent State: Four Dead in Ohio” by Derf Backderf in May.

In this nonfiction graphic novel, Backderf conducted extensive interviews and research to explore the lives of four young people and the events of four days in May. “Kent State: Four Dead in Ohio” “is a moving and troubling story about the bitter price of dissent—as relevant today as it was in 1970.”

The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17 in the library’s large meeting room.

The Common Readers Book Discussion Group meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month. Readers can join the group for one, several, or every meeting. The title for each month will be available at the Upper Sandusky Community Library in a variety of formats.
